How I vote
I believe in good policy, not party politics. Every bill deserves to be judged on its own merits, and I vote according to what will improve people’s lives. Unlike members of the major parties, I am never told how to vote.
My independence allows me to collaborate when it leads to better outcomes, and to stand firm when a proposal does not serve our community. Progress comes from cooperation, not division, and my focus will always be on creating laws that make a real difference.

Cutting off debate early denies the Senate a proper chance to argue the merits of a policy, even one I disagreed with. I voted against shutting down the conversation.

Called for an inquiry into how large wind and solar projects affect farmers and rural communities.
Regional communities deserve a real say when major energy infrastructure is built on their doorstep, but I felt this particular push was more about delaying renewables than genuinely helping farmers. I voted against referring it.

Online Safety Amendment (Strengthening Enforcement for the Social Media Minimum Age) Bill 2026
Doubles penalties for social media services that don’t take reasonable steps to kick kids off, and expands eSafety’s power to compel information from anyone with relevant information.
I don’t think this bill goes far enough on genuine platform accountability, and I have real concerns about handing broad new information-gathering powers to a regulator without stronger safeguards. I voted against it even though I support the underlying goal of protecting kids online.
